AAU Competitive Team
The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is the premier amateur sports organization in the country. CORE is an AAU Member Club and competes in the AAU Gymnastics Xcel Program.
The philosophy of the AAU program is to provide a fun, rewarding, inclusive, and positive gymnastics experience to athletes of varying abilities who love the sport and are seeking a competitive track with less pressure and more flexibility than the USAG Women's Development Program. AAU aims to offer a healthy balance between sport, family, and school. AAU follows the same criteria set forth by USAG’s Xcel Program with more allowances to help make competitive gymnastics more accessible to more athletes. Gymnasts should expect to spend 1–2 years per AAU Xcel Division. In order to move up to the next division, gymnastics should have all of the prerequisite skills and/or the approval of their coaches.
